Hi folks,

I have been painting professionally for more than 7 years for the most high-end Bay Area companies and have learned the trade from the best. Currently I am working on my degree, and have successfully established my own professional painting projects to put me through school. My home is now in Berkeley but I work all over the Bay Area.  I am a good communicator with amazing local references, and with my background in Visual Arts and Interior Design I will happily help you with a color consultation, ideas, and advice to cater to your time frame and budget.  I have knowledge and experience with low VOC and eco-friendly painting, which I always recommend especially to parents, and people with chemical sensitivities and/or allergies.

A professional paint-job will not only enhance the appearance and energy of a space, it can provide a sealant against moisture, protect your walls/furniture, make them easier to clean, etc. If the preparation and painting are done correctly you shouldn't have to repaint for a very long time. Keep this in mind when you deal with painters who charge too little for these services. Many times they plow through the job so as to not lose money, skipping the most important prepping stages of painting. I am often hired to fix and re-paint over carelessly done painting.  I always work efficiently, putting the emphasis on how my time is spent and focus on durability as well as aesthetics. I always stand behind my work, and most importantly I can guarantee an exceptional paint-job done at a decent pace for at reasonable cost. I have an extensive knowledge of paints and materials and can recommend them to suit your needs. Much of my work is recommendation-based, and I can provide endless local references at your request.

To schedule an estimate: The best way for me to give you an accurate estimate is to see your project, I charge $20 for an estimate to cover travel costs.  In your contact form please include a detailed description of your project, your time frame, and your budget. I worked with him for years painting for a company, and I when he *finally* decided to run his own painting business I said "Hallelujah!" What I can tell you about Meejee from all these years of knowing him and his work is the following:

He is the most anal retentive person I know. He will be straight up with you about limitations, price, or if what you want to do is just gonna look bad. He is easy to be around (hey, if someone is working inside your house, this is important.) He wants you to love your space, and won't let you settle for anything less. He charges well for his talents (but still reasonable) so he will give your project the attention and time it deserves. I have recommended this guy many times and he always provides quality work. I am happy to recommend him any time I can.

My husband is a contractor and I have seen him work with several painters throughout the years, and as far as my experience is concerned, Meejee run a very unique and efficient operation that far exceeds anyone we have ever contracted. Meejee worked on our Berkeley home and restored very old and delicate trim and crown molding and had it looking like new by the time he was done. He gave us excellent color advice - a service that although not free is worth every penny in the end, after all, this paint job is a one-time endeavor. I highly recommend Meejee, he was very nice and easy-going, with the enthusiasm and imagination that only an art student can provide, and the eye and skill of a true artist- not just a regular house painter. Meejee has an eye for what looks good, and an excellent knowledge about the intricacies and chemistry of working with paints. This is def. the guy you want to call if you really care about what your place looks like and will look like in the future. Meejee is more like an interior designer who happens to do his own painting work, for the price of a regular painter. He is easy to talk to, intelligent, and educated.

I have moved between Chicago and SF several times and have always hired painting companies to do the job. The 2 bedroom place that Meejee painted for me had been previously done by an established, licensed company for $4500 a year earlier.. It looked great when they were done, but I started to notice some parts it looked like that paint was cracking and flaking, and the mold problem they supposedly "fixed" in the bathroom had come back. Meejee came and explained in detail what caused these problems and after spending a lot of time and exchanging many emails with me to help me pick out colors, he redid the place for a lot less, by himself.
